Presently Freelancing, Aug ’09 to date

I have set up my own business, offering a freelance design service working with design agencies, manufacturers and directly with clients. Projects have varied from designing bespoke displays to producing high quality 3D rendered visuals and animations.

Bezier Ltd, Bluetouch, Coutts Creative Shopper Marketing, Feb ’04 – May ’09

Senior creative designer; conceptualised and generated initial concepts, working in permanent and temporary materials.
Visualizing to a high standard of presentation renderings and animation in 3ds Max.
Developing designs; creating fabrication and specification drawings; converting initial ideas into manageable solutions for production.
Giving creative direction and managing freelancers, coordinating projects between structural departments and graphic teams.
Client facing, attending briefings, liaising with, pitching and presenting concepts.
Working on international brands ranging from in-store campaigns, creative tenders and store refits.
Clients: Coca Cola Enterprises, GlaxoSmithKline, ICI, Black & Decker, United Biscuits & 20th Century Fox.

Creative Retail Design. Jan ’03 – Jan ’04 (Freelance)

Design and visualising services for various agencies, producing photorealistic 3D rendered visuals and flythrough animations, including exhibition stands, in-store activation and travel retail.
Clients: The Design Group, Jourdans and Whitewater Graphics Ltd.

Paradigm Corporate Communications Ltd. Sept ’02 – Jan ’03

Replaced a 3D team, steering existing jobs through from design conception to fulfilment.
Complete involvement in project management, co-ordinating external suppliers and installation for shop in shop, concession areas within department stores.

St. Ives Direct DisplayCraft Ltd. Oct ’00 – May ’02

Initiated a 3D department supporting an existing graphic and print-based studio. Using a variety of media from marker pen drawings to rendered illustrations. Developed a good working knowledge of printing processes, and the production techniques for wood, metal and plastic for the permanent display market.
Clients: Tomy, Mizuno and British Telecom.

Visual Merchandising Ltd. May ’98 – Aug ’00

Generating creative concepts and initial visuals through to finished designs for final production.
Creating vacuum-formed trays for hotspots, in-line plinths and gondola ends mainly within the FMCG market. Responsible for specification and tooling drawings for prototypes and mock ups, briefing and managing work contracted out to suppliers. Clients included Proctor & Gamble, Sara Lee and Gillette.

Whitewater Graphics Ltd. Mar ’98 (Freelance)

Created concept sketches and marker presentations of POS units for cosmetics and body care products, designing in-store promotional display sites, demonstration plinths and product launches.
Clients included L’Oreal, Maybelline and Yardley.

QED Displays Ltd. Oct.’97 – Feb ’98
Developed imaginative designs and solutions within the retail sector, Liaised closely with the on-site
Workshops, fabricating existing products and bespoke systems.
